I know Johnny turned 4 months last week, and we did do a photo shoot just for your perusal. I will get pictures up as soon as I can get them off the SD card that my computer will not recognize anymore... lame.
In the meantime, Johnny had a doctor's appointment today. Here are the stats:
Weight: 17lbs 7oz - 92nd percentile
Height: 27 inches - 99th percentile (SAY WHAT?!)
Head circumference: 17 1/4 inches - 50th percentile
Basically, he's already proportioned like an adult and will bypass mine and John's heights by the time he's three years old. Just kidding. I hope. He also had to get a few shots, but he took them like a boss! He only screamed and turned red for about 75 seconds, but then he was okay. And now he's sleeping off the trauma, like a boss.
Taken after Johnny and I got into the car after his appointment. I think he made what he thinks about shots very clear, don't you?

Naptime
I've already talked about the issues with Johnny's naps, yes? Well, they haven't really gotten any better, I've just come to terms with the fact that he will never nap longer than 45 minutes. So, I decided to give up trying to extend his naps and spending forever trying to get him down. Now I just put him the swing, turn on my vacuum recording and let it work its magic.

Pretty great, right? Sometimes it takes longer for him to fall asleep, but usually this will do the trick. He just can't resist the sound of the vacuum.

16 Weeks!
I turned 16 weeks old on Sunday!
I know, I'm getting bad at keeping up these weekly update things, but hey, Sunday was Easter and I was busy. So there. My newest skill, as you can see from above is pouting. Aren't I good at it? This is now what I do when I'm bored. It's supposed to elicit a helpful response from Mommy, but generally she just thinks it's cute. I may have to rethink my strategy. I'm getting better at bringing things to my mouth, but my favorite thing to nom on is a burp cloth... especially one that's full of spit up... yum. I celebrated my first Easter this past Sunday (as mentioned above) and I'm sure Mommy will have a post with pictures whenever she gets around to it since I require a lot of attention these days.

All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy
And thus, we do no work. We play and play and play all day! Except for the three times a day he's taking a 45-minute nap . . . then there's no play. But other than that, we are playing fools! Therefore, he is the polar opposite of dull.
His favorite thing (for now) is playing under his Baby Einstein play gym, which has lots of little toys suspended from a couple of flexible beams that he can bat at and it plays music when you shake it hard enough. Johnny's favorite toy is this octopus that has a gigantic smiley face and holds a rattle and a fish.

Inevitably, however, he gets bored of Mr. Octopus (even though I have a voice for him and he holds conversations with Johnny) and so his next favorite thing is playing with Mommy and Daddy!

Okay, maybe he likes this best, but let's be honest, I have stuff to do sometimes and the play gym is almost as good.

Do you have dip in your mouth young man?!
One of Johnny's new favorite things to do is chew on his tongue. Weird, I know. He's not teething or anything yet (still too soon) but man does he love his tongue. It's so funny because half the time it looks like he's dipping . . . which I guess isn't funny since dip causes oral cancer and all of that, but whatever. I tried to catch him doing it on camera, but unfortunately, he's catching on to this camera stuff and is quite the ham (he's my son after all) . . . so I only managed to get a little video of it.

Pre-sitting
Johnny is still too young to be sitting up on his own, obviously, but he really enjoys being propped up! He is in love with sitting in the corner of our couch "like a big boy" and hanging out with me and John. Johnny is also really fascinated by his hands, as you'll see in the video. He sits there, stares at/clasps/sucks on his hands and looks around the room like he owns it. It's totally adorable . . . for now.

And yes, we are watching a movie with him. Judge our parenting skills accordingly.
P.S. Can you see how SOAKED his onesie is? Yeah, he's a drool and spit up machine. It's a little gross, not gonna lie.
